Mini Marathon Update….

Bank Holiday Monday June 6th dawned warm and bright, the perfect start for this year’s Flora Dublin Mini Marathon.  A total of 150 women from 19 counties registered to join the Meningitis Trust team this year – the most ever! Thank you to everyone one of them, and to everyone who sponsored their efforts.

For the Meningitis Trust, this is a key annual event. The Trust receives no statutory government funding, so every cent raised in sponsorship helps us to continue services to families affected by meningitis. To date, we have received almost €10,000 in sponsorship, which is already being put to good use, providing much needed meningitis services. For those who haven’t yet had a chance to return their sponsorship money, we’d encourage you to do so as soon as possible – every cent really does make a difference.

The Mini Marathon also provides an opportunity for a great day out for everyone involved, and a chance to get together with other women, to chat and share experiences, and to meet Meningitis Trust staff and volunteers.

There are many people who helped make the Mini Marathon such a wonderful day, and apart from the participants themselves, we would like to thank Edelman PR for providing a wonderful venue for our pre- and post-reception – and some of the best views in Dublin! Thank you to Katie, Maura and Marina from Beaufort, to our wonderful masseurs Elaine and Jim, and to all the volunteers to gave their time so generously on the day.
