Many of us lead hectic lives nowadays, but just a few hours a month can make an amazing difference – just ask some of the people that the Trust has supported over the years. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds:
The Feeney FamilyBernadette Feeney contacted the Meningitis Trust after her young daughter Catriona became ill with pneumococcal meningitis when she was just 7 months old.
Thankfully, after spending a number of weeks in hospital, she made a full recovery.
Bernadette and her extended family have taken part in a number of challenge events, including the Dublin Mini Marathon, and actively support the Trust's work, including our postcard campaign for the introduction of the pneumococcal vaccine.
They have also distributed thousands of ‘Signs and Symptoms’ cards and have been of huge support to the Trust.
